Debut Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1946 as a training group for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. The group remains SYSO's largest. Debut is a training orchestra for SYSO's intermediate-level players. Students in the Debut Symphony Orchestra typically advance to the Junior SYmphony Orchestra.

Starting January 7, 2012, rehearsals will be held at Eckstein Middle School, Saturdays 8:30 am - 10:45 am. Additional sectionals on Saturday mornings as scheduled. See Calendar for rehearsal and concert dates, and sectional information.
