Student Program
Orchestras: MITC is home to two full orchestras, each of which rehearse daily and perform in a final concert. Repertoire for both orchestras consists of a variety of standard and contemporary works from symphonic literature. Chamber Ensembles: Student ensembles are assigned; grouping students of comparable abilities. Students work directly with a member of the faculty and/or a MITC intern. Ensembles rehearse daily and perform in a final recital. Enrollment: If enrollment at any one session does not reach the required minimum number of applicants you will be notified one month prior to the start of the session and your application fee will be refunded. Intern ProgramAdvanced high school juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply for a MITC internship position. Interns will work directly with the MITC faculty. Their duties vary but may include: assisting MITC faculty with student sectionals and chamber ensembles, being available to help students individually, and playing in student orchestras during the course of the festival. This program does leave room for creativity and flexibility. If you have creative ideas and/or special skills, be sure to let us know in your application. Chamber Music Studies: Interns will form chamber ensembles with regularly scheduled rehearsals and performances coached by a MITC faculty member. Stipend: Interns will receive a stipend for their participation in MITC. |
