The Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras would like to express our sadness and sense of loss at the sudden and tragic passing of George Shangrow.                                            

Mr. Shangrow was one of the most important and influential members of the Northwest musical community and over the years in his capacity as conductor, mentor and radio host on Classic King FM, had profound influence on the SYSO program.

The Seattle Youth Symphony and Marrowstone Summer Music Festival wish to express our deepest condolences to the Shangrow family and to convey our sense of the tremendous loss that his passing will have on the musical life of our city of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.

All orchestras rehearsal at Shorecrest High School on Sep. 18th. We welcome parents to attend our SYSO Parent Meeting at 8:30am for Debut parents, 9:45am for Symphonette parents, and 11:00am for Junior parents. Meet the administrative staff, stay informed on SYSO happenings this season, and ask any questions you might have.
